Barannik: Zenit needs to reduce the squad

Former Zenit head coach Dmitry Barannik shared his thoughts on the problems at the Saint Petersburg team. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

According to the expert, having too many players in the squad is not always good because every player wants to get on the field. Barannik emphasized that especially when star players are gathered, reducing the squad can help Zenit.

He also mentioned that since Russian teams are currently not participating in European competitions, having two squads is a big expense and an unnecessary burden. Currently, Zenit is in fifth place in the Russian Premier League standings after the 7th round, having accumulated 12 points.

According to the expert, optimizing the team roster and increasing competition among players will help improve results. This is an important factor for the team's future successes.
