Russia's return to world football depends on a political agreement

Famous sports commentator Dmitry Guberniev expressed his opinion about the sanctions applied to Russian football. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

According to him, Russia's return to world football will only be possible after political agreements are reached. Guberniev emphasized that first there must be broad political agreements, and only then should permission be granted to return to the sports field.

Although some sports are independent of politics, biathlon, football, and skiing are completely dependent on political situations. Additionally, Guberniev did not acknowledge UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin's opposition to the exclusion of Russian teams.

Čeferin opposed the exclusion of Russian teams from competitions. Earlier, the head coach of the Russian national team, Valery Karpin, also stated that the possibility of returning to official competitions would only arise after military actions end.

Therefore, until political problems are resolved, Russia's full return to the international sports arena will be difficult.
