UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin addressed the issue of the suspension of Russian teams from official international competitions in his recent interview. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Čeferin stated that he does not support football-related sanctions against Russia. Valeriy Karpin, head coach of the Russian national team, who responded to the UEFA president's remarks, said that he has not heard such statements.
According to Karpin, he has neither seen nor heard these words. If they were said, then there is nothing new.
He emphasized that there have been talks before about the unfair suspension of Russian teams, but even after three years, the situation has not changed. He also noted that no new feelings have arisen.
Currently, Valeriy Karpin is preparing the Russian national team for the BetBoom friendly match against Jordan. This match will take place on September 4, Thursday, at the Lukoil Arena stadium.
The Russian national team played its last official match in November 2021.
