Kiril Voljyenkin, president of the “Orenburg” football club, shared his thoughts on the current restrictions for legionnaires. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, starting from the next season, the rules regarding the number of legionnaires are planned to be further tightened. Voljyenkin emphasized the importance of the club's approach and stated that the current restrictions have not prevented the emergence of a group of young and talented players.
He noted that new stars are finding their place in the national championship. According to plans previously announced by the Russian Ministry of Sports, the number of legionnaires in Russian Premier League clubs will be reduced from 13 to 10.
At the same time, the number of legionnaires on the field in the starting lineup will be reduced from 8 to 5. These changes are planned to be implemented gradually.
Such steps are aimed at the development of the country's football and expanding opportunities for local players. Club leaders and experts hope that the new rules will have a positive impact on the teams' activities.
