Former footballer of «Zenit» and CSKA teams Vladislav Radimov commented on the tightening of restrictions on the number of foreign players in the Russian Premier League. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He emphasized that he is against strict restrictions and said that he is dissatisfied with the performance of Russian players when attending stadiums. According to Radimov, the current skill level of Russian footballers is insufficient.
In the future, the number of foreign players is expected to be reduced from 13 to 10. At the same time, instead of eight, five foreign players will be allowed on the field simultaneously.
Currently, the «Krasnodar» team is leading the Russian championship with 16 points in seven matches. Discussions continue about how these changes will affect the development of football in the country.
Radimov’s words indicate the necessity to improve players’ skills and to create more opportunities for local players. It is also noted that the restrictions may impact team compositions and the quality of the game.
The reduction of foreign players in the Russian Premier League is aimed at serving the development of national football.
