On Thursday evening, the Kazakhstan national team lost to the Wales national team in a World Cup qualifying match held in their capital. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
This defeat caused Kazakhstan to lose their chances of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the match against the "Red Dragons." Thus, since Stanislav Cherchesov left the team in the winter of 2025, the Kazakhstan national team has lost five out of seven matches.
It is worth noting that the Russian coach was dismissed due to failure in the League. After Cherchesov's departure, the Kazakhstan national team lost friendly matches against North Korea and Belarus, as well as twice to Wales and once to the North Macedonia national team in the World Cup qualifying stage.
As a result, the Kazakhstan national team lost the opportunity to participate in the World Cup. This will significantly complicate the team's participation in future international competitions.
A new strategy and preparation are needed for the national team.
