On Friday, the German national team lost 0-2 to the Slovakian national team in the first round of the World Cup qualifiers. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
The Slovakian players managed to score one goal in each half. Despite Germany controlling the ball for 70 percent of the game, they were unable to breach the opponent's goal.
The team's head coach Julian Nagelsmann said at the press conference: “We still have five matches left, and we need to win all of them, including the second match against today's opponent. Otherwise, we will be forced to participate in the playoff matches held in March.” Northern Ireland and Luxembourg national teams are also competing in the same group as Germany and Slovakia.
Julian Nagelsmann's team will face Northern Ireland at home on September 7. This match is considered one of the important encounters in the qualifying stage.
