Former Kazan "Rubin" and Perm "Amkar" defender Aleksey Popov explained the reasons behind the poor results achieved by Moscow "Dynamo" and the Russian national team under the leadership of Valeriy Karpin. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He emphasized that Karpin is not a coach, but a manager, and the responsibilities of these two positions differ. Currently, it is especially difficult for him because during his work with the national team, he constantly thinks about "Dynamo's" game, but the team seems to be left without leadership on its own.
According to Popov, a coach can be constantly divided between the club and the national team, but this situation quickly tires him and discourages him from his work. At present, "Dynamo" is in ninth place in the Russian Premier League standings with eight points after seven rounds.
In the upcoming eighth round, "Dynamo" will face Moscow "Spartak" in the capital derby. This match is considered important for the team to improve its results this season.
