Daniil Zorin, a midfielder of the Russian youth national team, shared his thoughts on the possibility of being called up to the national team and recalled his first call-up in an exclusive interview with the "Euro-Football.Ru" website. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, the strongest players among the youth national teams were in Colombia. Daniil emphasized that he played two matches there and that the fans had a high interest in football.
During the trip, there were flight issues, and due to plane delays, the team arrived two days late. This affected their timely arrival for the game, but they tried to take the situation positively.
It was mentioned that team members returned on different flights, while Daniil and his teammate Kirsh stayed together. Kirsh lost his belongings, but it was clarified that this was not related to the plane delay.
The youth national team mainly consists of players born in 2004-2005, who have good relationships among themselves, and the competition at the club level is not strongly felt in the national team. Daniil recalls his first call-up when he was 15-16 years old, invited to a tournament held in Spain while playing at the Spartak academy.
He valued the opportunity to test himself on the international stage at that time. Although the Russian youth national team has limited opportunities to participate in international competitions, Daniil does not consider this time wasted.
He strives to develop himself by playing in the national team and the country’s championship. Daniil is currently 21 years old and expressed his desire for the U-23 team to participate in the Olympics and to take part in such competitions in the future.
He highly values the opportunity to be called up to the national team and emphasized the need for constant hard work to achieve this. Additionally, he said that if he had the chance to communicate with head coach Valery Karpin, he would like to get advice to improve his game.
