Former capital "Dinamo" footballer Vitaliy Dyakov shared his thoughts with journalists about the possible tightening of restrictions on the number of foreign players in the Russian championship. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, Russian Premier League fans will not lose interest. The number of spectators in stadiums will remain the same as before.
Even though the national team does not participate in international competitions, people will continue to follow its games. Earlier it was reported that by 2028, the restriction might be tightened to allow five foreign players on the field and up to ten foreign players on the roster.
Currently, teams can use eight foreign players on the field, and the roster allows for thirteen foreign players. These changes are expected to impact the development of Russian football.
Experts are closely monitoring the effect of these restrictions on the quality of players and the competitiveness of teams.
