Evgeniy Lovchev, the legendary player of the "Spartak" team, shared his views on the situation of Russian football and sports on the international stage. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
As is known, due to sanctions imposed by UEFA and FIFA, Russian football teams have been unable to participate in official international competitions for more than three years. Lovchev expressed regret that the main voices in the football world belong to countries opposing Russia.
According to him, if the countries participating in the SCO meeting had taken leadership in the football field, Russia would have already returned to international competitions. Additionally, Lovchev touched on political issues and criticized the current leaders in Europe.
He compared his own leader with the leaders of other countries, rated them very low, and expressed regret that people living in Europe elect such leaders. Furthermore, Lovchev expressed confidence that once the geopolitical situation stabilizes, Russia will return to official competitions.
The Russian national team will play its next friendly match away against Qatar on September 7.
