Recently, the well-known goalkeeper Anzor Kavasashvili evaluated the playing level of Russian goalkeepers. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, there are currently no high-level goalkeepers. Unfortunately, the quality of play of Russian goalkeepers has deteriorated due to their own mistakes, as they constantly give unclear passes to defenders in the penalty area, creating dangerous situations for themselves.
Kavasashvili singled out one goalkeeper who consistently performs at a high level. In his opinion, this goalkeeper is Igor Akinfeev, who plays for the Moscow Central Army club.
In the current season, Akinfeev has appeared in eight matches across all competitions, conceding six goals. Additionally, the 39-year-old goalkeeper has managed to keep a clean sheet in two games.
This information was provided by the "Sovetskiy Sport" publication. According to Kavasashvili, teams need to work more on improving the quality of their goalkeepers.
Nevertheless, Igor Akinfeev is currently considered the most reliable among Russian goalkeepers.
