The Saudi Arabian Football Federation has upheld Al-Nasr's appeal regarding the match against Al-Oruva. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
As a result of this decision, the club where Cristiano Ronaldo plays gained three points and retained the opportunity to continue competing for a spot in the 2025/26 AFC Champions League. Initially, in the match held on February 28, Al-Nasr lost 1-2.
However, the team later filed a protest. According to them, the opposing team's goalkeeper, Rafi Al-Ruwaili, was not registered as a professional player and therefore was not eligible to participate in the match.
This controversial issue was reviewed, and Al-Oruva was handed a technical defeat. The awarded points moved Al-Nasr up to third place in the competition standings.
They have two points more than Al-Qadsia and two points less than Al-Hilal. Second place grants the right to participate in the AFC Champions League.
In the final round on May 26, Al-Nasr will play against Al-Fateh, while Al-Hilal will face Al-Qadsia. The results of these matches will determine the qualification for the competition.
