Besiktas will not participate in European competitions after 13 years

The Istanbul club "Besiktas" will not participate in the final stages of European Cup competitions for the first time in thirteen years. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

The last time this club reached these stages, they achieved great success. It is worth recalling that on Thursday evening, the "Besiktas" team lost in the return leg of the Europa Conference League play-off stage to Switzerland's "Lausanne" club.

The match ended with a final score of 1:2. The Istanbul team's chances of success were also hindered by a player's expulsion towards the end of the second half.

Last season, "Besiktas" finished fourth in the Super League. Having last won the Turkish championship title in 2021, the team is currently striving to restore its position in European competitions.
