Guardiola stopped Savio's transfer to Tottenham

The reason why Manchester City's Brazilian wing-back did not move to London's Tottenham club has become known. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

According to the El Nacional publication, during the summer transfer window, Manchester City head coach Josep Guardiola personally contacted sporting director Hugo Viana and asked him not to consider any offers regarding Savio. The player attracted interest from Tottenham and Barcelona clubs.

This season, the 21-year-old forward has not yet appeared on the field. His current contract with Manchester City is valid until 2029.

According to Transfermarkt portal data, the Brazilian player's market value amounts to 50 million euros. Thus, the club's management and coaches decided to keep the player, who is considered important for the team's future.

This creates favorable conditions for his further career. Savio will have the opportunity to prove himself within Manchester City and actively participate in achieving the team's major goals.
