According to Mundo Deportivo, the Dutch player will not take part in the fourth round of the Spanish league match against Valencia. The team's head coach Hans-Dieter Flick decided to rest the midfielder ahead of the important Champions League match against Newcastle on September 16.

Soon, Frenkie de Jong will undergo a medical examination to determine the duration of his recovery. This season, the Dutch player has appeared in two matches for the "blaugrana" team but has not distinguished himself with goals or assists.
