The 20-year-old player started in the lineup in the World Cup 2026 qualifying match against the Ukraine national team. At the beginning of the second half, Dué left the field due to injury and was replaced by Ousmane Dembélé.
The team's head coach Didier Deschamps explained this decision as follows: "Désiré felt discomfort in the ankle area. We decided not to take any risks."
