The 40-year-old footballer was not included in the squad for this match, as announced by the Saudi club on social media. Based on the recommendation of the security service, it was deemed appropriate that Cristiano Ronaldo does not participate in the match taking place in Tehran.

This decision was made to prevent large gatherings of fans. During his previous visit to the Iranian capital, mass disturbances occurred on the streets.
