Vitaliy Kafanov, the specialist in training goalkeepers for the Russian national team, shared his opinion about Matvey Safonov, the goalkeeper of the PSG team. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, Matvey's situation at PSG does not cause concern for the team because he gained significant experience over the past year. The 17 matches he played in France brought him more benefit than two or three seasons in the Russian Premier League.
Matvey has become much stronger compared to last year. Kafanov also emphasized that Matvey is the number one goalkeeper for the national team.
According to him, the Paris team’s goalkeeper performs best during the national team’s training sessions. Safonov joined PSG in the summer of 2024.
Since then, he has played in 17 matches in France, keeping a clean sheet in seven of them. Currently, his team is leading the Ligue 1 standings with nine points.
This reflects his team’s successful performance.
