Information has emerged about the factors that led Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopes to stay at the club. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
During the summer transfer window, London’s Chelsea club tried to buy the Spanish player. According to the Diario Sport publication, Lopes was hesitant about leaving Barcelona.
He made his final decision to stay at the club after a conversation with head coach Hans-Dieter Flick. During the discussion, Lopes admitted that he felt underappreciated last season, a view shared by the coach.
Nevertheless, Flick emphasized that Lopes is a very important player for the team. This season, the 22-year-old Lopes has appeared in two matches of the Spanish championship but has not stood out with effective performances.
These circumstances further strengthened the player’s decision to remain with the team.
