Emerik Laporte returned to Athletic Club

31-year-old central defender Emerik Laport has become a player of the Athletic Club of Bilbao once again. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

The Basque club's press service announced this. The contract with the defender is planned for three years.

Over the last two seasons, the player played in Saudi Arabia for Al-Nasr club, where he was teammates with Cristiano Ronaldo. From 2018 to 2023, he played for Manchester City and appeared in over 120 matches.

He was with Athletic from 2010 to 2018, starting from the youth team. This season, Athletic will participate in the UEFA Champions League.

In the first round of the group stage, the Basques will play at home in Bilbao against London’s Arsenal team.
