The Franz Beckenbauer statue was unveiled in Munich

Two days ago, Franz Beckenbauer would have turned 80 years old. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

He was born on September 11, 1945. On the occasion of this anniversary, the Bayern team installed and presented a statue in Munich to honor the legendary libero figure.

Beckenbauer is depicted in a distinctive style, watching the field with his head held high. He was always known for looking for his teammates on the field and supporting them.

The statue is located near the statue of another legend of German football, Gerd Müller. Approximately three hundred people were invited to the presentation ceremony.

The president of Munich's famous football club, Herbert Hainer, said during the presentation, "We miss him very much, not only as a footballer but above all as a person." Franz Beckenbauer passed away at the beginning of 2024.
