Former defender of the Russian national team Vladimir Granat expressed his opinion on who deserves to win the Ballon d'Or award the most this year. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, the two main candidates are Dembele and Yamal. Granat believes Dembele is more deserving of this award because he won the Champions League and achieved great success in France.
He emphasized that Yamal still has many opportunities ahead. The Ballon d'Or winner will be announced on September 22.
Last year's winner was the Spanish player Rodri, who plays for Manchester City. The second place was taken by Brazilian Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid), and the third place by his teammate, English footballer Jude Bellingham.
