
The owners of Madrid's "Atletico" football club are actively negotiating the sale of the controlling stake of the team to Apollo Global Management. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
This was reported by Spain's Expansion publication. The American company may gain control over the club as it will purchase shares owned by CEO Miguel Marin and its chairman Enrique Cerezo.
The deal is valued at approximately 2.5 billion euros. So far, the agreement is not certain to be signed and negotiations may fail.
"Atletico" is trying to increase its capital, which is necessary to invest in the team and to implement sports and entertainment projects around the "Metropolitano" stadium.
