Barcelona signed Joan Garcia instead of ter Stegen

Barcelona's sporting director, Deco, shared his thoughts on goalkeeper Joan Garcia joining the team. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

The 24-year-old goalkeeper transferred from Espanyol to the "blaugrana" team at the beginning of the season. The transfer fee amounted to 25 million euros.

According to Deco, they had been monitoring Joan Garcia for some time. Initially, he was not a priority target in the transfer market, but due to ter Stegen's injuries, the team decided to acquire him.

Garcia immediately became Barcelona's main goalkeeper. He played in five matches under the leadership of Hans-Dieter Flick and conceded four goals.
