Former Zenit striker Ramil Sheydaev has transferred to Azerbaijan's Qarabag club. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
The contract between the club and the player is intended to last until the end of the 2025/2026 season. The striker joined Qarabag as a free agent, according to the club's press service.
In the 2024/2025 season, Sheydaev represented the Neftchi team. He played a total of 31 matches in the Azerbaijan championship and cup, scoring four goals and providing two assists.
The 29-year-old striker's market value is estimated at 800 thousand euros. He is a player trained at Saint Petersburg's Zenit club.
Additionally, Qarabag is participating in the main tournament of the Champions League this season. The team defeated Lisbon's Benfica 3-2 in the first match of the competition.
This defeat led to the dismissal of Benfica's head coach Bruno Lage, who was replaced by Jose Mourinho. However, Sheydaev can only be registered for the main European competition during the winter transfer window, as the registration deadline expired on September 2.
Thus, he will participate in the Champions League matches only if Qarabag advances to the playoff stage.
