Former France national team goalkeeper Sebastien Frey commented on the future of Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov at PSG. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to Frey, PSG has signed a contract with quality goalkeeper Luca Chevalier, and playing alongside him in the same team will be greatly beneficial for Safonov. Currently, PSG is considered one of the strongest clubs in the world.
Therefore, being in such a team is a great privilege in itself. Safonov is developing by being there, the expert says.
Additionally, Frey emphasized the necessity for Safonov to work tirelessly on himself and prove his abilities. According to the expert, the Russian goalkeeper currently lacks a bit of confidence.
In the new season, 26-year-old Safonov has not yet appeared on the field. His current contract with PSG is valid until June 2029.
