London's Chelsea club has renewed interest in Milan's goalkeeper Mike Maignan. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
The French player could have transferred to Chelsea last summer, but the transfer did not happen due to the clubs failing to agree on contract terms. The player had expressed his willingness to move.
According to the Daily Express, Chelsea is seriously reconsidering Maignan after their match against Manchester United. In that game, goalkeeper Robert Sánchez was sent off in the 5th minute.
The match ended with a 2-1 victory for the "Red Devils." Mike Maignan's contract with Milan runs until the summer of 2026.
Therefore, starting from January, when the player turns 30, he will be able to negotiate freely with other clubs. This increases Chelsea's chances of acquiring the goalkeeper.
The club management is currently considering offering Maignan to solve the goalkeeper issue.
