
Former German footballer and world champion Andre Schürrle, although retired for several years, has not cut ties with major sports. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to the German publication Bild, the 34-year-old former footballer is currently preparing for the Challenge Roth triathlon to be held early next year. In this competition, he will have to cover a distance of over 200 kilometers.
This distance consists of 3.8 kilometers of swimming, 180 kilometers of cycling, and 42 kilometers of running. In his statement, Schürrle announced that he had planned to participate in a marathon this year but was unable to do so due to family reasons.
The former footballer ended his career in 2020 at the Spartak club in Moscow. It has been confirmed that his interest in sports and physical fitness remain at a high level.
Schürrle's participation in triathlon demonstrates his aspiration for new achievements in sports.
