Former footballer Denis Ugarov spoke about the biggest mistake of Zenit's head coach Sergey Semak. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He expressed this opinion in an interview with the publication “Euro-Football.Ru”. According to Ugarov, relying on foreign players in the team lineup was a wrong decision by Semak.
A team is never formed solely based on foreign players, but rather relies on the local players available. This is because it is easier to communicate, explain, and reach agreements with local players.
Foreign players have contracts and act based on those contracts. Their main idea is that if they are dissatisfied in the team, they can be sold.
This harms the team. That is why Zenit started the season poorly, and this is considered a major shortcoming of the coach, said Ugarov.
In the 9th round of the Russian Premier League, the Saint Petersburg team defeated Krasnodar away with a score of 2:0. The goals were scored by Maksim Glushenkov and Luis Enrique.
Currently, Zenit is in fourth place in the tournament table with 16 points.
