Smolov: There will be a tough fight for the championship in the RPL

Former Russian national team player Fyodor Smolov shared his thoughts on the fight for the championship in the current season of the Russian Premier League. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

He said that the season will be as interesting as before and strong competition between the teams will continue until the last round. According to Smolov, no team will be a definite champion with four or five rounds remaining in the season.

Initially, he thought that if the “Krasnodar” team defeated “Zenit,” they could secure the championship early. However, his current opinion is that the fight for the championship will continue.

At present, “Krasnodar” is leading the championship with 19 points. Also, CSKA and “Baltika” are in the top three, with 18 and 17 points respectively.

This season, the competition between the teams is very intense, and the result of each match affects the race for the championship. Therefore, fans can expect an exciting game until the last round.
