Former Rostov player Vitaliy Dyakov revealed that he never imagined PSG footballer Usman Dembele would win the Ballon d'Or. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He spoke about this in an interview with the online publication Euro-Football.Ru. According to Dyakov, today's football is very different from the football played in the 1990s and early 2000s.
He recalled players from that era such as Del Piero, Baggio, Totti, Ronaldo, and Ronaldinho, saying that today's youth cannot imagine running around the streets wearing Dembele's jersey. He also emphasized that he never believed Usman Dembele would receive the Ballon d'Or.
According to Dyakov, Dembele is a good player, but he is seen more as a runner and athlete. "He got the Ballon d'Or, he got it," he said.
Usman Dembele won the Champions League, the French championship, and the national cup with PSG last season. The forward scored 35 goals and provided 16 assists.
These results demonstrate his high-level football potential. Dembele is currently recognized as one of the brightest stars in world football.
