Former striker Valeriy Masalitin shared his thoughts on the reasons behind Moscow Lokomotiv football team's recent defeats. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
The team, led by Mikhail Galaktionov, started the 2025/2026 season with four wins but later drew in five matches. According to Masalitin, Lokomotiv lacks the stability needed to turn the game around with mental and willpower strength.
This situation was previously observed in the CSKA team, who lost victories under pressure in the final minutes of the game. A similar problem currently exists in Lokomotiv as well.
The former player also recalled that Lokomotiv started last season well but their results worsened after the winter break. Additionally, the team's playing quality largely depends on Aleksey Batrakov, who experienced a decline after a bright performance at the beginning of the season.
After the eleventh round of the season, Lokomotiv is in fourth place in the standings with 17 points. Maintaining stability and increasing the number of wins in upcoming matches is important for the team.
