Benfica head coach Mourinho received a low salary

Rui Costa, former Portuguese footballer and current president of Lisbon's Benfica club, provided information about the terms of the contract signed with the team's head coach Jose Mourinho. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

According to him, the coach was set a salary of three million for the first season and four million for the next season. This is the lowest income for Jose Mourinho since leaving Portugal.

Additionally, the coach accepted a clause related to early termination of the contract, with a sum lower than his seasonal salary. Through this, he demonstrated great respect for the club.

The 62-year-old coach was appointed as Benfica's head coach on September 18 and signed a two-year employment contract. This contract serves to strengthen the trust and cooperation between the team and the coach.
