He personally contacted French striker Karim Benzema. According to Marca newspaper, the coach nicknamed "The Special One" invited the 37-year-old player to join the "Eagles".

The phone conversation between the coach and the player took place a few days ago. Currently, Karim is playing for Saudi Arabia's "Al-Ittihad" club.

His current contract with the club expires next summer. It is worth noting that Benzema and Mourinho worked together for several years at Madrid's "Real" team.
