Former president of Moscow’s Lokomotiv club, Nikolay Naumov, shared his thoughts on the victory (1:0) against Rubin. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, the match was evenly contested and largely inclined towards a draw. Naumov emphasized that the capital team often plays not by force but by adapting to the opponent, which becomes an obstacle in the fight for prize positions.
At the same time, he particularly highlighted Dmitriy Barinov’s important role in the central part of the field and his contribution to giving character to the team. Overall, the game was equal and the likelihood of a draw was high.
“Lokomotiv” secured a long-awaited victory, but I do not believe this will be a significant boost for the team, said Naumov. He added that the team often plays by adapting to the opponent rather than applying pressure.
Currently, Lokomotiv leads the Russian Premier League table with 20 points. This result indicates the team’s efforts to improve their game and could serve as a foundation for future successes.
