Zenit team's head coach Sergey Semak gave an interview to Match TV channel after the game against Orenburg. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He evaluated the game overall, emphasizing that many opportunities were created and many goals were scored. He also mentioned that the simple goals conceded from set pieces were regrettable.
The coach stated that he always aims not to concede goals. He pointed out that the substitute players who came on at the end of the game played a bit excessively and there were shortcomings in their passing exchanges.
He noted the need to properly assess good opportunities and better organize the game among team members. Semak gave two or three clear examples related to Shilov and Mostov.
He said that these opportunities should be used effectively. In response to the opinion that he has been more emotional in recent games, the coach said this is only an external appearance and actually has nothing to do with it.
He admitted that referees' decisions are sometimes incomprehensible. For example, despite Pedro clearly taking the ball in the previous game, he received a yellow card, and in the next game, Barrios received a yellow card in a similar situation.
These decisions remain unclear to the coach. Regarding the situation where Denis Adamov dropped the ball from his hand, Semak said this is a natural part of football, a game mistake.
Finally, he highlighted Maksim as the best player of the game. Semak expressed positive opinions about Maksim's excellent actions, goal scoring, and beneficial play for the team in today's match.
He did not hide his satisfaction with Maksim's recent performances and effectiveness.
