Vladimir Slishkovich, head coach of the "Orenburg" team, shared his thoughts with the "Match TV" channel after the match against "Zenit". This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He stated that not everything went as they wished in today's game, especially in the first half when the team could not fully demonstrate their play. It is difficult to say much after a 2:5 defeat; he considers the opponent's victory deserved.
Slishkovich emphasized that they were defeated on counterattacks, mainly due to incorrect passes and communication problems within 5-10 meters. He stressed that such mistakes must not be repeated.
The team was eager to score; despite two goals coming from set pieces, there was also a desire to score from positional or counterattacks. However, "Zenit" does not forgive such passing mistakes, resulting in the score reaching 5:2.
Nevertheless, the coach views positively that the team did not stop fighting even at 0:4, scored two more goals, and had chances for a third goal. In any game, positive and negative aspects can be found, and it is necessary to develop the positive ones.
The problems need to be resolved as soon as possible because allowing the opponent to organize counterattacks from passes within 5-10 meters is a serious flaw. He also emphasized that failing to press in time is another issue that must be addressed.
