Headline: Semak: The reason Gonu plays less in the team is competition

Sports10:11, 28-09-2025

Sergey Semak, head coach of Saint Petersburg's "Zenit" team, revealed the reason why Argentine forward Luciano Gonu has played less for the "blue-white-blue" team this season. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

According to him, Luciano has currently scored only one goal and provided one assist. The competition for his position in the team is strong, and he is currently behind other players.

If he improves his game, he can get more playing time. This competition is a natural process that cannot be avoided, said the coach.

In the tenth round of the Russian Premier League, "Zenit" defeated "Orenburg" 5-2 at home. Maksim Glushenkov scored four goals for the hosts in the match.

Currently, the Saint Petersburg team is in third place in the league table with 19 points. This result reflects the team's good performance this season and it is expected to continue in the upcoming matches.
