Lovchev: Zaharyan is called up to the national team for psychological support

Former footballer Yevgeniy Lovchev commented on the call-up of Real Sociedad's 22-year-old player Arsen Zaharyan to the national team's matches in October. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

According to Lovchev, this call-up was mainly made for support purposes. He noted that Zaharyan plays little at the club due to injuries and emphasized that his participation in friendly matches against Iran and Bolivia is necessary to provide the player with psychological assistance.

Lovchev stated that if there were important competitive matches, Zaharyan's participation would be doubtful because he plays little in the team and has many injuries. Therefore, his call-up is aimed solely at encouraging the young player.

Additionally, Lovchev speculated that Zaharyan's options to return to Russia, particularly to the Dinamo team, are currently being considered. This is related to the cautious attitude towards him in Spain and the situation caused by numerous injuries.
