Mbappe: Argentina deserved victory in the final

Kylian Mbappe, forward for Madrid's "Real" team and the French national team, recalled the 2022 World Cup final. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

The French national team lost to Argentina in the decisive match of the tournament held in Qatar. The score was 3-3 after regular and extra 30 minutes, with no winner determined.

Mbappe scored three goals, but the final trophy went to the opponents who were more precise in the penalty shootout. Mbappe said in an interview with Movistar: “Argentina deserved to win the 2022 World Cup final.

They played better than us. In the final, scoring goals is not as important as winning.

The game was very exciting, but in the end, Argentina rightfully won. Sometimes we seemed better, but considering the entire match, the result is fair.

It is hard to forget that day. I do not want to experience such a situation again.” Today, the French national team will play against Iceland in the qualifying stage of the 2026 World Cup.
