Alexander Kokorin, a forward for the Cypriot team Aris, expressed his support for the introduction of strict limits on the number of foreign players. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
In his opinion, most foreign players do not meet the standards required by the Russian Premier League. Kokorin emphasized that the number of foreign players should be minimal, and only local players should take the field in all matches.
He particularly criticized the large number of super-foreign players in the Zenit team and said that all foreign players should be sent home, giving opportunities only to their own players. Kokorin also recalled that during his career, he only joined the main squad of Moscow Dynamo due to injuries among foreign players.
At the same time, he acknowledged that the salaries given to Russian players are very high and stressed that such money does not bring positive results for many players. Kokorin's views were covered by the publication Sport-Express.
Overall, he aimed to contribute to the development of national football by supporting local players and limiting the number of foreign players.
