Matvey Safonov has not yet appeared on the field for the "PSJ" team in the 2025/2026 season. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Lucas Chevalier, who was signed in the summer as the main goalkeeper, is currently active; he became the primary substitute after Gianluigi Donnarumma left. Safonov, who joined the Russian national team training camp, expressed dissatisfaction with the amount of playing time he is getting at the club.
According to the French publication Goal, Safonov's remarks caused dissatisfaction within the "PSJ" management. Some officials emphasize that such statements do not benefit the team.
Currently, "PSJ" is preparing for the next home match in the French championship. They will face the "Strasbourg" team on Friday, October 17.
