Kononov openly stated the reason for his return to "Torpedo"

Russian coach Oleg Kononov spoke about why he accepted the offer to return as head coach of the Moscow “Torpedo” football club. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

Kononov was dismissed from the club in mid-August due to poor results in the Ligue PARI competition. Recently, the “automakers” reappointed the 59-year-old specialist as head coach.

According to the coach, this is a great challenge and motivation for him, and right now he feels deep respect and interest towards this club. “Torpedo” has very serious goals, and personally, I am always ready to accept new challenges, Kononov said on the “Match Premier” TV channel.

He also emphasized that he carefully followed all the games after leaving the club. Currently, after the 14th round of the Ligue PARI competition, the “Torpedo” team is at the bottom of the standings with only 10 points.

This situation serves as additional motivation for Kononov to develop the team and achieve high results.
