Former “Lokomotiv” player Taras Burlak shared his thoughts on the capabilities of the team coached by Mikhail Galaktionov in the current season of the Russian Premier League. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to Burlak, the main problem for the “railwaymen” arises in defense. The team has been unable to find the best combination among defenders for a long time, and constant changes hinder stability.
He emphasized that winning the championship requires not only a strong attack but also balance and reliable defense. In Burlak’s opinion, six teams are currently competing for the championship, and each has a chance to win.
“Lokomotiv’s” attack is indeed strong, but it is difficult to say who the clear favorite is. Previously, “Zenit” and “Krasnodar” had the advantage, but now CSKA is showing good performance, although their long-term results remain uncertain.
After the 11th round of the current season, the capital team is in second place in the league table with 23 points.
