Czech specialist Vlastimil Petrjela, who previously worked at Saint Petersburg's Zenit team, shared his opinion about the club. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He emphasized that Zenit has good chances to win the championship. However, the question remains whether Semak can achieve this as the head coach.
According to Petrjela, Zenit needs new blood, a new challenge. It is still unknown what innovations Semak can bring to the team.
Currently, Zenit has collected 20 points in 11 matches, which is 4 points less than the leading CSKA team in the tournament table. Semak has managed the team for 7 years, winning 6 championships and 7 other trophies.
Petrjela coached Zenit for 3 years, bringing the team the silver medals of the championship and the Premier League Cup. Thus, according to the specialist, the team needs new ideas and updates.
