The Russian national team may hold a friendly match against the Paraguay team in 2026. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
This was announced by Alexander Dyukov, head of the Russian Football Union. It should be recalled that the teams were scheduled to play a match in Moscow in March 2024, but the match was canceled due to security reasons related to the terrorist attack at "Crocus".
According to Dyukov, the agreement made for 2024 is still valid and the match will likely take place in 2026. In recent friendly matches, the Russian national team defeated Iran 2-1 and Bolivia 3-0 on their home ground.
Additionally, in November, the team under the management of Valery Karpin will host Peru in Saint Petersburg and play against Chile in Sochi. These matches will serve to prepare the national team and strengthen its position in world football.
