Former CSKA defender Andrey Mox spoke about the team's decision in 1988 to deliberately lose a match against Georgia's "Guria". This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

Almost all the team players agreed to this and received money, but nothing happened on the field because the opponent still could not win under such circumstances. According to Mox, the defensive line did not move from its position, the goalkeeper stopped the ball in front of him, the ball moved within the penalty area, but the Georgian players did not have the opportunity to strike it.

They spent a lot of time idly at the hotel the night before the game. As a result, the "soldiers" won by a large margin and the money given to the opponent was returned.

According to Mox's recollections, only three players, including Igor Korneyev who scored three goals, were unaware of this arrangement.
