O‘runov and Sergeev's goals brought victory to Persepolis
In the 17th round of the Iran Pro League, the Persepolis team defeated Sepahan 2-1 at home. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

Both goals scored in this match belonged to Uzbek footballers. Oston O‘runov opened the scoring, and the decisive goal securing the victory was scored by Igor Sergeev.

After the game, which was played under snowy weather and intense competition, Igor Sergeev shared his thoughts about his first goal for Persepolis, his understanding with teammate O‘runov, and the red card he received at the end of the match. He emphasized that the game was not easy and said: “This match was very tough for us.

I am happy to have scored my debut goal, but I regret receiving a red card in the final minutes. Nevertheless, the 3 points gained were very important for our team.

Playing in snowy conditions is not easy, but the Persepolis players proved once again that they are true fighters.” Sergeev also specially noted Oston O‘runov’s contribution in the goal-scoring situation.

According to him, O‘runov’s confident action helped him score the goal. “Oston saw that I was behind him and created a favorable opportunity for me.

I thank him for that. This goal further increased my confidence,” said the forward.

However, the red card received at the end of the match negatively affected Sergeev’s mood. Knowing that he will miss the next game, he expressed his intention to apologize to the head coach: “I am sorry that due to the red card I will not be able to help the team in the next game.

I apologize to the head coach and our fans. Persepolis is my team, and we fight for victory in every match.”

This victory was significant for Persepolis not only in terms of their position in the tournament table but also psychologically. The goals by O‘runov and Sergeev once again brought pride to Uzbek fans.

Now, everyone’s attention is focused on the next game: how the team will play without Sergeev and whether O‘runov can maintain his form. These questions remain open for now.
