De Zerbi: Criticism should not be based on nationality

Roberto De Zerbi, head coach of the football club "Marseille," expressed his reaction to the recent criticisms directed at him in the media. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
On January 24, his team defeated the club "Lens" 3-1, ending the opponent's 10-game unbeaten streak. This was reported by euro-football.ru.
In his interview, De Zerbi emphasized the warmth of the city of Marseille and highlighted the uniqueness of the place. Although he stated that he is open to criticism, he expressed dissatisfaction with being judged based on his nationality and passport in some cases.
According to him, if he were a French citizen, the attitude towards him might have been different. The coach also pointed out that some people consider themselves "main," but he only answers to one leader and does not regard anyone as his "boss."
De Zerbi acknowledged that journalists have the right to write whatever they want, and accordingly, it is natural for him to express his own opinion. He also reminded that the "Marseille" team has scored many goals this season, adding that such results indicate good performance.
This victory caused "Lens" to lose the opportunity to lead the tournament table. Currently, "PSG" is in first place with 45 points, "Lens" is second with 43 points, and "Marseille" is third with 38 points.
